Texas - Number 1 in 2016

Texas was the number-one growth state in 2016, according to the latest U-Haul Migration Trends Report. That report tracks the net gain of one-way U-Haul rentals entering a state versus leaving a state during a calendar year.

“I am proud that Texas continues to be the state of choice for those looking for expanded economic opportunities,” said Gov. Greg Abbott in response to his state’s U-Haul growth ranking.

That growth statistic is consistent with the 2017 Texas Relocation Report, released last month by the Texas Association of REALTORS®. The relocation report, which includes data from the U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey, and the U-Haul Migration Trends Report, shows that Texas ranked high among states for inflow of U.S. residents.
